Title I: General Provisions & Access Conditions

The present Internal Regulations (Règlement Intérieur) were enacted by the Board of Directors and ratified by the General Assembly. They establish the operational conditions governing the use of the premises, materials, and services of the Bibliothèque Communale de Saint Sorlin en Valloire.

  • On-Site Consultation: Free and unrestricted to all visitors. Browsing books, magazines, and participating in on-site game demonstrations does not require an association card.
  • Home Borrowing: Requires a registered family or individual library card. Cards are issued at the circulation desk upon presentation of proof of residence in Saint-Sorlin-en-Valloire or neighboring communes.
  • Annual Contribution: A nominal annual contribution of 10 euros per household is requested to support non-profit operations. In keeping with our public-benefit mission, this fee is waived upon simple request for jobseekers, students, and low-income families.

Title III: Care of Documents & Games

Borrowers are personally responsible for the materials registered to their card. Patrons are asked to treat books and games with care, protecting them from moisture, direct sunlight, and food spills. If a page becomes loose or torn, patrons must NOT attempt repairs using standard adhesive tape, which damages paper fiber. Please inform the volunteer team upon return so our archival repair clinic can restore the volume using acid-free adhesives.

Title IV: Conduct Within the Premises

To preserve a peaceful environment for study and reading:

  • Visitors are kindly requested to switch mobile telephones to silent mode upon entering.
  • Smoking, vaping, and consuming messy foods are strictly prohibited within the collection rooms.
  • Children under eight years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult or adolescent during general opening hours.
